Professional experience
Mr. Martinez started his law enforcement career with the Ventura Police Department and later moved to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, where he retired as a Supervising Investigator. Most of his nineteen-year career at the Ventura Police Department included extensive experience as an investigator. Growing in his career at the District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Martinez held various positions as an Investigator. Mr. Martinez was assigned to the Administration Unit, where he gained experience conducting investigations related to public integrity, internal investigations, use of force, and misconduct investigations on civilian and sworn staff, both internally and for Ventura County allied agencies. Furthermore, Mr. Martinez conducted background investigations for all positions in the DA’s office, including sworn staff.
Mr. Martinez has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Northridge. He is also a graduate of Ventura College, where he achieved two Associate Degrees, one in General Studies and the other in Administration of Justice. Mr. Martinez has excelled in his career by obtaining Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, and Management POST Certifications.
